We here at Gimlet hope that you and your friends and loved ones are safe and staying sane during what are inarguably not the best of times. We also want to take this opportunity to let you know some things (all good things!) about the next year in Gimlet.

Gimlet: It works at your home, too!

You may already know this, but: Gimlet will work wherever you are. Are you answering questions from home? We’ve got you covered. If you don’t have a computer available, Gimlet is designed to work smoothly and quickly from your smartphone, too.

We aren’t raising prices for anyone.

In case you were wondering (and from our inbox, yes, some of you are), we aren’t raising prices for anyone. We know that your budgets are tight and only slated to get tighter, and you deserve to know our prices so you can get your budgets set.

Gimlet Premium: Now for everyone, at the Gimlet Basic price!

Also in the interest of protecting everyone’s budgets and getting the best product out there for everyone to use, effective now, we’re combining our Basic and Premium tiers. Everyone will now get Gimlet Premium, but as we said above, we’re not raising prices for anyone. If you’re using Gimlet Basic, we’ll automatically add the Premium features to your account. If you’re set up with Gimlet Premium, your next renewal will be at the Basic price. Let us know if you have any questions.

Is your budget in trouble? Let us know.

The ongoing pandemic is going to wreck a lot of libraries’ budgets. We know this. At the same time, showcasing your library’s value to your community has never been more important than it is now. If you can’t afford Gimlet in the upcoming budget cycle, let us know and we’ll work with you on a temporary price break. Gimlet is how we pay our mortgages and buy food, so it’ll be hard if everyone needs this, but we’ll do our level best to help you out.

We’re here to help.

If there is anything we can help you to do to prove your value to your community, let us know. We know that libraries do a ton of things and Gimlet can’t capture them all, but if we can help you with data crunching or presentation to help your city council or university chancellor understand your role, reach out to us and we’ll try to give you a hand.

That’s a wrap.

We’re in uncharted territory. All of us. Our grand Gimlet plans have been interrupted and turned into rather intense homeschooling experiences. Libraries around the world have been closed for months, and I don’t think anyone really knows what the future holds.

But one thing that’s for certain is that we’re in this together. We certainly can’t survive without your support. And as we face the future of a society and economy ravaged by this pandemic, libraries are poised to resume their place in our communities. We look to libraries for education, for entertainment, for access to technology, for reference librarians who seem to know just about everything, for a sense of community, even for a place to step out of the weather for a bit.

We’re here to support you, just as you have supported us. Stay safe out there. And as always… Thank you SO MUCH for using Gimlet.

Cheers!
